AGAMA Energy is a leading renewable energy consulting business in Southern Africa. We are privately owned with many years of project experience covering a range of more sustainable energy solutions.
The company was founded in October 2000 by Glynn Morris and Barry Morris as an outcome of over fifteen years of experience since 1985 in research and consultancy in more sustainable energy service provision in Southern Africa. This experience was gained at the Energy Research Institute (ERI), the Energy for Development Research Centre (EDRC) at the University of Cape Town and later in Energy & Development Group (www.edg.co.za). Greg Austin joined AGAMA Energy in 2003 bringing new skills and years of experience in biogas technology and Mike Munnik joined the firm in 2006 on the basis of many years of experience in the corporate energy sector in South Africa.
AGAMA Biogas (Pty) Ltd was registered in 2008 as a consolidation of the experience since 1990 in anaerobic biogas digestion, wastewater treatment and energy supply which Greg Austin had acquired in a close corporation called Biogas Technology Africa cc.
