AGAMA Energy is a well-known and respected company operating in the Sustainable Energy and Green Star (Green Building Council of SA) sector. AGAMA requires the skills of a dynamic multi-skilled person in the consultancy side of the firm. The position involves working on bioenergy, clean energy and green building projects as well as providing engineering and sustainable energy support to the AGAMA team. A successful candidate has the opportunity to grow with the company.

Responsibilities

  • Energy related project Pre-feasibility & Full-feasibility Studies
  • Biogas (strong focus)
  • Solar/wind/hydro and other sustainable energy
  • Development of energy strategies (better ways of generating and using energy)
  • Energy audits and assessment of management solutions
  • Carbon inventory assessment
  • AGAMA Carbon reporting (http://www.agama.co.za/carbon-footprint/2011)
  • Scope 1, 2 & 3 Carbon Inventory (ISO 14064 & GHG Protocol)
  • Technical support to Green Star team
  • Engineering and Technical support to AGAMA team
  • General renewable energy support
  • BiogasPro support – product specific training will be provided (http://biogaspro.com/)
  • Preparation of proposals for potential projects
  • Project management
  • Client liaison

Requirements

  • BSc Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or related degree
  • 3 – 5 years sustainable energy or related experience
  • Additional energy or biogas qualifications an advantage
  • Green Star Accredited Professional an advantage
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Salary

Market related, depending on employee skills and experience (salary band R150 000 to R240 000 pa).
